The Email branding feature allows you to customize our email templates with branding that matches your organization's internal brand guidelines. Create professional, on-brand communications that reinforce your company's identity across all automated platform and notification emails, including nudges and alerts.

Accessing Email branding

Navigate to Settings > Platform settings > Email branding

This opens the Email branding editor where you can customize your email templates.

Customization options

Header and footer customization

Build rich, professional headers and footers using multiple content blocks:

  • Images: Reference logos, banners, or other visual elements you have hosted.

  • Text blocks: Add headlines, taglines, or contact information with full Markdown support for formatting, links, and emphasis.

  • Headings: Create structured titles and section headers.

  • Buttons: Include call-to-action buttons or navigation links.

  • Dividers: Add horizontal rules for visual separation between sections.

  • Spacers: Control spacing and padding between elements for precise layout control.

You can add as many blocks as needed and arrange them to create the perfect header and footer that align with your internal brand guidelines.

Global styles

Control the overall appearance of your emails:

  • Colors: Set brand colors for backgrounds, text, and accents.

  • Fonts: Choose typography that matches your brand guidelines.

  • Layout: Adjust spacing, alignment, and overall structure.

Working with drafts

Save as draft

  • Save your template changes as a draft version without affecting live emails.

  • Continue iterating on customizations while maintaining current email delivery.

  • Default platform templates remain active while your draft is saved.

  • Ideal for testing complex brand guideline implementations and internal approval workflows.

Testing your template

Send to self feature

  • Click the "Send to self" button to receive a test email in your inbox.

  • The currently saved version (draft or live) is sent.

  • Test how your template renders across different email clients.

  • Verify formatting, images, and links before going live.

Activating your template

When your customized template meets your brand guidelines and is ready for deployment:

  1. Complete all customizations to match your internal branding requirements.

  2. Test thoroughly using the "Send to self" feature across different email clients.

  3. Click Activate to replace the default platform template with your branded version.

Multi-language support

The Email branding feature seamlessly handles multiple languages:

Text customization

  • Customize content for each supported language (International English, UK English, French, etc.)

  • Each language can have unique text while maintaining consistent branding

Style consistency

  • Visual formatting (colors, fonts, layouts) applies across all languages automatically

  • Ensures brand consistency regardless of the recipient's language preference

For detailed multi-language setup instructions, see the Multi-language support guide.

Nudge and Alert templates

By default, nudge emails use the standard template. You can choose to apply your custom branding to nudge emails as well, ensuring consistency across all platform communications.

Resetting your template

If you need to start over or revert to platform defaults:

  1. Go to the Layouts section within the Email branding tab.

  2. Select the option to reset the template to the standard platform format.

  3. This action cannot be undone, so ensure you want to remove all brand customizations.

Best practices
