You can attach your own documents to a chat with CybSafe Signal. Signal reads the text and uses it when you ask it to create content or answer questions, so what it writes reflects your policies and your wording.
What you can do with a document
Create a learning module from it.
Create a nudge based on it.
Draft a phishing simulation email based on it.
Use it as the brief for a workflow.
Ask questions about it, or get a summary of the key points.
Other CybSafe Signal features, such as questions about your people, data and reports, don't use attached documents.
Before you start
Your organisation needs Enable Signal to query organizational data turned on. You'll find it under Settings > Advanced settings > AI features. If it's off, Signal tells you when you try to attach a file.
Attach a document
Open CybSafe Signal from the icon in the top right of the platform.
In the message box, select Add file (+) and choose your file.
Wait for the file to appear above the message box. Signal suggests things you can do with it under Suggested actions for your document.
Select a suggestion, or type your own request. For example: "Create a nudge reminding people to lock their screen, based on this document."
Send your message.
Under Signal's reply you'll see which documents it used, for example "Based on clean-desk-policy.docx." Review anything Signal drafts before you use it.
Supported files
DOCX, PDF and TXT files.
Up to 10 MB per file.
Up to ten documents on one message.
Signal reads the text in your file. It can't read text inside images, so scanned PDFs won't work, and neither will password-protected PDFs. Save older .doc files as .docx first.
Long documents
Signal reads roughly 100 pages of text at a time. If your documents are longer, it uses the beginning and tells you under the reply how much it used, for example "the first 60% of policy.pdf". If you need a later section, paste it into the chat.
Which documents Signal uses
If you attach documents to a message, Signal uses those for that request. If you don't, it uses the documents attached earlier in the same conversation. Documents don't carry over to a new conversation, so attach them again when you start one.
What happens to your document
CybSafe Signal keeps the text from your document, not the file itself.
Only you can see your conversations and the documents in them.
The text is sent to the AI model when you ask Signal to use it.
FAQs
Signal says it can't read documents for my organization. Turn on Enable Signal to query organizational data under Settings > Advanced settings > AI features, then attach the file again.
Signal says it couldn't attach my file. Check the file opens, isn't password-protected and has selectable text rather than scanned pages.
Can I attach several documents at once? Yes, up to ten on one message. Refer to them by file name, not by position, so Signal knows which one you mean.
