Overview

When configuring audience filters in campaigns or workflows, you have the option to choose whether users must match "any" or "all" of the selected filters.

Any Filter

Users will be included if they match at least one of the selected filters.

Example: If you set these filters with "Any" selected:

  • Group includes 'Finance department'

  • Risk score below 80%

Users will be included if they are either:

  • In the 'Finance department' group OR

  • Have a risk score below 80%

All Filter

Users will only be included if they match every selected filter.

Example: If you set these filters with "All" selected:

  • Group includes 'Finance department'

  • Risk score below 80%

Users will only be included if they:

  • Are in the 'Finance department' group AND

  • Have a risk score below 80%

Key Differences

Any Filter

All Filter

More inclusive

More restrictive

Matches one or more conditions

Must match every condition

Uses OR logic

Uses AND logic

Typically results in larger audience

Typically results in smaller audience

Best Practices

  • Use "Any" when you want to cast a wider net and include users who meet at least one criterion

  • Use "All" when you need users to satisfy multiple specific conditions

  • Monitor the expected recipients count as you add filters to ensure you're targeting the intended audience size

  • Review your filter selection before finalizing to ensure it aligns with your campaign goals

Remember: The number of users matching your filters can change up until your campaign is launched, as user attributes and group memberships may update.
